Superb curule seat including
- a base in the form of pliers or a cross or an "x" , viewed from the front
- a bowl-shaped seat
- a high-positioned band-shaped back rest
The back, arms and base of the seat are richly decorated with sculpted motifs: mascaron, grotesques, fleur-de-lys, foliage. richement décorés de motifs sculptés : mascaron, grotesques, fleur de lys, rinceaux.
The style is reminiscent of both the Middle Ages (Dagobert's throne) and the Renaissance: a real object of curiosity that remains perfectly functional.
Very good condition except for a crack in the arm (visible in the photo) which is easy to repair.
