Vintage framed etching / print / engraving by Germaine Bouret: Take the pretty little one and leave me the big ugly one.
Very good state
The artist was born in Paris in 1907 to a French father and an English mother.
She began drawing at a very young age, won a national competition in 1922 and, at the age of 17, worked for a few months as a fashion designer for jeanne Lanvin
Aged just 20, she created her company "Editions Bouret" - which later became "Ateliers Bouret" - and began to draw children.
His twin brother wrote the captions for her illustrations.
When she died in 1953, Walt Disney - who had asked the artist to work for him - would say of Germaine Bouret that she was the greatest illustrator of her time.
