This model #618, known as the \"Lyon type\" is equipped with a boiler and a warming overn as well as a faucet.\nThe metal parts seem to be nickel plated\nThe oven is heated by wood or coal.\nA plate indicates ANC MON GODIN - GUISE 618 (AISNE)<\/p>\n
In 1840, Jean-Baptiste Andr\u00e9 GODIN created the company that still bears his name today, in Guise, in the department of Aisne.\nIn 1846, the brilliant industrial pioneer had the idea of substituting an enamelled cast iron stove for the traditional sheet metal stove. He filed a patent and became the inventor of the cast-iron wood stove. Dozens of models followed, including the famous \"PETIT GODIN\" which, through its fame, made GODIN a common name synonymous with heating and cooking.<\/p>\n
