Vintage tin \/ sheet metal box of Pastilles made using water from Lourdes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the center of the cover (traces of wear) is the image of Notre Dame with written at the top 'I am the immaculate Conception', on the left the name of the manufacturer \"E.Malespine\" and on the right the address \"Lourdes , rue de la Gare \".<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the bottom of the box (very good condition) is printed a drawing of Lourdes with, written below, \"Made in France\".<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 1888, the pharmacist Elie Malespine obtained papal approval from Pope Leo XIII after having offered him a box full of pastilles. It has become the quintessential souvenir to bring back from Lourdes, and was awarded the gold medal at the Lourdes exhibition in 1898.<\/p>\n
