The manufacture of earthenware in Badonviller began in 1828 when Nicolas Fenal inherited an pottery in Meurthe-et-Moselle. He took over the business and when he died in 1857, his children and nephews succeeded him, including Théophile Fenal, who created his own factory in Badonviller.

Badonviller pottery was an important manufacturer of fine earthenware in the 19th century. It is one of the many factories in eastern France that took advantage of the wood resources of the Lorraine forests to heat the kilns.

Nowadays, HB-Henriot is well known all over the world for its know-how :  the "Quimper paint touch" and the tradition of producing and hand-painting every piece in-house as well as the creation of its own moulds.

Very good state.
