Large vintage white ceramic dish featuring a beautiful décor : black and white (trout-like) fish with red dots, aquatic vegetation, small waves...

Stamped on the bottom: "Salins - France".

The Salins faience factory was created in 1857 in Salins-les-Bains in Franche-Comté. Specialised in the production of tableware and domestic ceramics.

It was taken over in 1912 by Edouard Charbonnier, son of the director of the Longchamp faience factory, who was responsible for boosting the factory, which was awarded a prize at the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris.

From 1968 onwards, the factory was integrated into the Sarreguemines faience factory
