Superb vintage ovoid-shaped vase in enamelled stoneware with dark green and white checkerboard motif.
This object was handcrafted in India and is signed Kripal at the bottom.
Kripal Sing Shekhawat (1922) est responsable d’avoir reintroduit ‘la Poterie Bleue de Rajasthan’ . Cet artisant d’origine turco-persane, dont le pigment bleu caractéristique lui a donné son nom, avait totalement disparu de Jaipur dans les années 50.
