Antique French Framed Poster : BYRRH (Illustration No 4885)

Authentic vintage BYRRH advertisement from the old magazine "l'Illustration" No 4885 dated October 17, 1936.

The print is presented in a glazed gold frame.

A man with a moustache is talking to a customer:

"Don't be afraid! The bottle has changed but it still contains our dear old BYRRH. The one and only!"

Simon Violet is the creator of an aperitif commercialised under the name "Vin tonique et hygiénique au quinquina", a wonderful formula combining grape mistelle flavored with cinchona bark, a medical shrub.

In a context where medical wines based on cinchona were in full expansion, the brand was a victim of its own success, the Pallade and Simon Violet brothers were sued by the Order of Pharmacists of Montpellier, and were forced to change the name of the brand.

From there, the BYRRH acronym was born on 10 February 1873, and instantly aroused curiosity and imagination!

With its beautiful retro graphics, this poster will bring a decorative touch to your home. It would also look great in a traditional bar, café or restaurant.

It will also make an original gift for cocktails lovers but also antique collectors.
