Antique French Print: The Ladies Monitor

Vintage French engraving or lithography from the rare book “Le Moniteur des Dames et des Demoiselles” published in 1872-1873.

 

This is a portrait of two elegant ladies and a little girl in crinolines.

 

The print is in black and white with touches of color on the clothes: red for the lady on the left, green for the one on the right and purple for the little girl in the middle.

 

The following information is written at the bottom of the drawing:

 

In the middle the title is written with the address “Paris rue de Richelieu. 92 ”.

 

The bottom right reads “Toilettes de la Mon Gagelin _ Alexandre's ornaments. Flowers by Mme E. Coudré, Mou Eilinan.r, by Richelieu. 104 Ribbons and Trimmings from the city of Lyon CHsée d 'Arthur. 6 Parfums de Legrand, supplied by the emperor. Honored. 207 ”

The bottom corners of the print feature 2 signatures. (including Jules David).

 

The mat/ frame is in fairly good condition with some slightly folded edges:
