Vintage polychrome engraving or lithograph depicting a guardian angel guiding a child to the path to paradise and protecting him from hell.
In the background on the left we have a large and luminous representation of Heaven and on the right a dark representation of Hell.
The child looks reassured and peaceful as he looks towards heaven. At his feet we see broken links from which he was visibly freed, as well as vegetation.
The title appears at the bottom of the image on the left written in large print in French "L’Ange Gardien" and at the bottom in smaller print in English "The Guardian Angel ".
On the right, written in large print in Spanish “El Angel de la Guarda” and at the bottom in smaller printin Portuguese “O Anjo da Guarda”.
The print is in polychrome: the darker colors approaching black on the right lighten as they go to the left, become white there and passing through the middle are more vivid hues, : red, blue, yellow, green ...
Edited by TURGIS and FILS and based on a work which appeared in the middle of the 14th century in France.
