Antique French Map: LUTETIA PARISIORUM

Reproduction of Sebastian Munster's map: Lutetia Parisiorum urbs, toto orb celeberrima notissimaque, caput regni Franciae.

This piece depicts an overview of the capital city in detail including: buildings, fortified walls, fields, mills, etc. It is copied from the Cosmographia of Munster: one of the most influential works of the 16th century. Cosmographia de Munster : une des oeuvres la plus influente du 16eme siècle.

The wooden frame is in good conidtion, but is missing the glass. There are also some scratches on the paper.
